Round and Round

By Taylor Shockley, Doctor’s Assistant and Scribe

“Round shaped glasses flatter many different types of faces. Capable of sending an entirely different message depending on the proportions, round can be retro, glam and hippie-esque as an oversize model but intellectual and futuristic in a smaller version.” – MYKITA

Gandhi, John Lennon, and Steve Jobs all have one thing in common – their iconic eyewear. They all sport a perfect circle frame for their prescription eyewear needs. No matter the size, round frames have never left the eyewear game. They circle back in style every decade. At Eclectic Eye, most of the brands we carry feature at least one design in this classic shape.

Scroll down to learn about some of the brands that carry this design. Plus, see some of our favorite round-shaped frames!

MYKITA

MYKITA is a brand that Eclectic Eye recently brought in from Berlin. From classic frames to modern funky frames, they feature different styles in stainless, surgical steel with a hinge design that is inspired by Japanese origami. The frames are all extremely lightweight and there are a variety of sizes to fit all face sizes.

KREWE

KREWE is a New Orleans-based and culturally inspired independent eyewear company that celebrates individual style with modern, iconic frames. The people and place – dense with history and ritual – inform each of KREWE’s designs.

KREWE’s signature frame, the ST. LOUIS, is a classic round P3 shape. It is a little bigger at the top and a smidge smaller at the bottom and features a unique keyhole bridge design that is reminiscent of the elaborate metal works of New Orleans’ St. Louis Street in the French Quarter. Its distinctive look is flattering on many different face shapes. Plus, there is a mirror coating available that is sure to get you noticed!
