Josie Sullivan Art Opening at Eclectic Eye

Join us this Friday evening at our Midtown, Memphis boutique from 6-8 p.m. for Josie Sullivan’s art opening reception.

Born in Memphis, Tenn., Sullivan began her art career at the age of five and now holds a graphic design degree from the University of Missouri and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Missouri State University. She resides in Columbia, Mo., where she is a full-time professional artist and is working on a children’s book.

Her work has been shown all over Missouri and in Memphis, and her pieces have sold across the country, including California, Texas, Missouri, Washington, Oregon, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina and Kentucky. She has placed in three different art shows in Columbia, Mo., and her work has been published in two books: Interpretations I and Interpretations II. She has five public artworks installed in a major hospital in the Columbia, Mo., Boone Hospital.

In creating her artwork, Josie Sullivan’s intention is to capture the diversity of life with its strangeness, including both the lighthearted and dark aspects. She uses several artistic methods to capture these feelings, including painting with acrylics, building relief sculptures with found objects and etching into plexiglass.
