In this exhibition of her recent work, photographer Amy Ingram-Curtis explores the urban and natural world through infrared digital photographs. The portion of the spectrum with frequencies just below the lowest visible red light is referred to as “infrared.” Though the human eye can see only a very small portion of the entire light spectrum, through these photographs taken with infrared light, they allow the viewer to be captivated by a precise and dreamlike photo experience.
Ingram-Curtis lives and works locally and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in communications from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she concentrated on visual arts and photography. She is presently active at Memphis Brooks Museum of Arts as a Docent and a member of the Memphis/Germantown Art League.
