My Style Is… Traditional with a Twist

Ellen Zahariadis

Ellen’s connection with Eclectic Eye began during a chance encounter in a Memphis grocery store shortly after moving to Memphis. While waiting in line someone complimented her glasses and they struck up a short conversation. Turns out that interaction was with Dr. Weinberg, who also informed her that Eclectic Eye carried the brand she was wearing. That serendipitous meeting in the community led her to seek out Eclectic Eye when she was ready for her next pair of glasses.

Ellen lives in midtown, so the shop’s convenient location initially drew her in, but it’s the exceptional customer service and commitment to accuracy that keep her coming back.

“They go above and beyond to try to help you get what you really want in a pair of frames, but also make sure you have the accurate prescription for the glasses.”

Over the years, Ellen’s eyewear style has evolved. She favors clean, modern lines, but with “a little funkiness to them”. Embracing this aesthetic led her to discover theo, an Eclectic Eye staple. Ellen continues to grow her eyewear wardrobe by attending trunk shows and relying on the knowledge of the Eyewear Architects.

“They (the glasses) are part of my being all the time. That’s the first thing people really notice when you’re meeting them – your face, your eyes. I think that kind of twist helps introduce them to my personality.”

Your eyewear is your first impression and should reflect your style. It is paramount that the style and fit of the frame work in tandem with the accuracy of the prescription – and the Eyewear Architects at Eclectic Eye take both aspects very seriously.

Needless to say, we are thrilled that Ellen has joined our community and positively impacts Memphis as the Executive Director of the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County. As a team of animal lovers, we love to see the work of this non-profit organization enhancing our hometown.

Inspired by her efforts, we’re spreading the holiday spirit by giving back. We’re donating $5 from each frame sold in the month of December to the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County. We’re taking donations too! Feel free to bring in items that can assist this organization in their honorable protection of our 4-legged friends. Visit their website to see how you can further support this organization!
