We are so excited to announce our newest local collaboration with The Crybaby Club! The third collaboration pin in the Eclectic Eye + The Crybaby Club series is Elvis-themed, a perfect piece to showcase our Memphis roots.
Memphis is known for many famous musicians, and Elvis is no exception. “The King,” though not born in Memphis, lived here for most of his life. He is highly recognized for the mansion in which he resided, Graceland. What many don’t know is that Elvis grew up living in boarding houses and low-income housing near Downtown, Memphis prior to making his singing debut. One of his earliest homes still stands today and can be rented by the avid Elvis fan.
Memphians’ stories often include taking risks to achieve dreams like Elvis did, and Eclectic Eye is no exception. Sixteen years ago, Mike and Robbie Weinberg took a chance on a building that sits on the corner of Cooper Street. This is where they established a joint vision to build their own eyewear empire. Today, the building is a cornerstone in the revitalization of Midtown, Memphis. Our team prides itself on the love we have for Memphis and all that our beloved city has to offer. Today, there are so many wonderful, locally-owned businesses, restaurants and stores to support, and Eclectic Eye is proud to be among them.
Don’t forget to stop by the store for Small Business Saturday, November 24, and support not just one locally-owned small business, but two, with your purchase of the Eclectic Eye + The Crybaby Club collaboration pins.
