We think our team is great, and we hope you do, too! But, have you ever wanted to know more about our crew? We’re starting a Q&A series where we ask our Eyewear Architects and Doctors a few pressing questions.
Get ready to meet our newest optometrist, Dr. Kristin Fonseca!
What do you most enjoy about your work?
I most enjoy getting to know people from so many different backgrounds and helping each one to see his or her best!
Can you tell us what led you to join the Eclectic Eye team?
I was interested in practicing in a patient-centric setting that allows for more one-on-one time with my patients. Eclectic Eye embodies this in all aspects of the practice.
What advice would you give to someone who is still looking for the perfect pair of frames?
Surprise yourself by trying on something you never thought you would – a frame’s color and shape can look remarkably different on your unique face than it does on the shelf.
What is one important thing, big or small, people can do to support their eye health?
For a contact lens wearer, it’s taking breaks from the contact lenses! As a wearer myself, I’ve learned the importance of limiting dependence on the lenses and letting my eyes breathe. I’m also a big fan of eating leafy, green veggies (like kale & spinach) – they are rich in nutrients which support eye health for the long haul.
How would you describe a perfect day spent in Memphis?
A perfect day in Memphis entails a day at the zoo with my kids (in the morning before it gets too hot of course) and an afternoon/evening at a Redbirds game at AutoZone Park. We may catch ourselves hanging out at Loflin Yard in-between for some good food and fun.
What talent do you wish you had?
I wish I could sing. I get plenty of practice imitating Elsa with my daughter or attempting karaoke, but how great would it be if I could actually hit a note?!
Last but not least, what is one thing you would take with you if you were stranded on an island?
My Maui Jims of course! If I’m going to be on an island, I must have my sunglasses (stranded or not)!
