MOSCOT is an independent eyewear line based out of New York City. The company was founded in 1915 by Hyman Moscot. He began selling ready-made eyewear out of a push cart on Orchard Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The company has now reached its fifth generation of being family-owned and operated and continues to apply the strong values that Hyman instilled. They offer high-quality eyewear at a reasonable price and their customer service is impeccable.
MOSCOT in the Modern Day
MOSCOT’s iconic style and family history is unlike any other. The story is fun to tell to customers when they come in looking for a vintage-inspired piece at a reasonable price. We usually discuss the humble beginnings and the push cart. We spend time finding the perfect fit. MOSCOT has different options for all types of fits, so it is nearly impossible to not find at least one frame in the line that will work.
The classic styling is reflected by the numerous celebrities that wear the frames. They are very active on Instagram and Facebook, and always keep their fans aware of new arrivals or future frames.
MOSCOT promotes the music scene by connecting fans of music and the frame line on their website. They also promote this relationship through live musical performances from emerging and established artists at their downtown location. MOSCOT hosts musical performances at their Orchard Street location where “no seat” is more than 10 feet from the stage! This allows the fans and performers a more interactive experience. The shows are open to the public with free beer or wine for guests 21 years and older. MOSCOT eyewear is offered at a discount to those attending and a portion of the proceeds is donated to a featured charity.
MOSCOT has evolved through the years and has branched out with newer styles of frames and new materials to update the look of their classic frames. Such examples include the crystal, translucent, brightly colored frames, and mirror selections on their sunglasses.
If you are looking for a frame that fits well and has a classic style, look no further than MOSCOT!
